Manchester United will have to do without Owen Hargreaves (knee), Anderson (ankle), Jonny Evans (ankle), whilst Gary Neville and Wes Brown are also looking doubtful, but John O’Shea is hopeful. Man United will also be without Nemanja Vidic, who serves a one match suspension.

Inter Milan have found the back of the net 8 times (2 at home) and conceded 7 goals (2 at home) in this season’s competition and finished as runners-up to Panathinaikos in their group. Internazionale Milano could be without Christian Chivu and Marco Materazzi due to injury.

Bursa transfer musim dingin yang berlangsung sepanjang bulan Januari 2009 sudah ditutup Senin (2/2) tengah malam. Beberapa transfer besar berhasil disepakati pada menit-menit terakhir deadline.

Tercatat sejumlah nama pemain beken meramaikan bursa transfer kali ini. Di antaranya adalah Robbie Keane yang kembali dibeli klub lamanya Tottenham dari Liverpool, Andrei Arshavin yang dibeli Arsenal dari klub Zenit St Petersburg dengan harga 12 juta poundsterling. Juga ada nama winger Ricardo Quaresma yang dipinjamkan Inter Milan kepada Chelsea.

Dari sederat nama pemain yang diperjualbelikan di pertengahan musim ini, gelandang Lassana Diarra tercatat sebagai pemain yang bernilai transfer tertinggi. Dia dibeli Real Madrid dari Portsmouth seharga 20 juta poundsterling. Di bawahnya ada nama striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar yang juga dibeli Real Madrid seharga 17 juta poundsterling dari klub Ajax Amsterdam.
